Seachem Flourish Potassium supplies potassium (as potassium sulfate), one of the three major macronutrients (the "K" in NPK) and one of the most commonly depleted in a planted tank. Many comprehensive supplements — including Flourish itself — don't carry enough potassium for a moderately to heavily planted tank, which is why a dedicated potassium bottle is so often the missing piece.
Where It Fits: Reach for Flourish Potassium when you spot its tell-tale deficiency signs: pinholes forming in leaves, yellow or browning leaf margins, and sluggish growth despite good light. It's a core macro supplement to run alongside your comprehensive base and, in macro-hungry tanks, alongside Phosphorus and a nitrogen source.
Reassuringly, potassium is safe to dose generously — potassium toxicity in aquarium plants is extremely rare at hobbyist levels, and unlike iron or phosphate it doesn't feed algae — so it's a forgiving one to correct with.
Dosing Guidelines: Use 1 capful (5 mL) per 50 gallons, twice a week — roughly 1 mL for a 10-gallon tank and 2 mL for a 20-gallon — adjusting upward in heavily planted, fast-growing setups as deficiency signs dictate.
