Anubias Barteri Mini Coin
Anubias Barteri Mini Coin
Anubias Barteri Mini Coin lives up to its evocative name with perfectly rounded, coin-shaped leaves that are small enough to create a delicate, jewel-like appearance in the aquarium. Growing to just 1 to 2 inches, this miniature cultivar is an excellent choice for nano aquariums, detailed aquascapes, and any situation where a small-scale, high-impact plant is desired.
Planting tip: Never bury the rhizome in substrate — Anubias Barteri Mini Coin should always be attached to driftwood, rock, or other hardscape with the rhizome fully exposed. Use cotton thread or aquarium-safe adhesive to secure it, and the plant will anchor itself naturally over time.
The care requirements for Anubias Barteri Mini Coin are as forgiving as any Anubias. Low to medium lighting is ideal, CO₂ supplementation is not required, and the plant adapts well to temperatures between 72 and 82°F and a pH of 6.0 to 7.5. As noted in the care chart, its tiny round leaves make it great for nano tanks and for adding fine detail to hardscape compositions. Regular liquid fertilization ensures healthy, steady growth.
Like all rhizome Anubias, Mini Coin must be attached to hardscape with the rhizome exposed. The tiny, round leaves are best displayed when the plant is secured to small stones, fine-grained wood, or detailed hardscape elements that complement its miniature scale. Thread or aquarium adhesive work equally well for attachment.
In the aquascape, Anubias Barteri Mini Coin is a true foreground plant that adds precision and detail to the layout. Its coin-like leaves create a sense of whimsy and natural beauty in nano tanks. Shrimp keepers particularly love this cultivar, as dwarf shrimp of all species delight in grazing on the smooth round leaves and resting beneath their shade. A miniature masterpiece.
