Hikari Bio-Pure FD Brine Shrimp are freeze-dried brine shrimp, a light and highly digestible treat enriched with multivitamins. Brine shrimp are a gentle, natural food that helps with digestion and adds welcome variety to a staple diet, and the freeze-dried form keeps that appeal in a clean, long-lasting, parasite-reduced product.
Feeding Tip — soak first: As with all freeze-dried foods, soak a pinch in tank water before feeding so it sinks and softens rather than floating off dry. Offer it as a treat a few times a week alongside a staple pellet for variety; it's gentle enough to use as a regular change of pace.
Freeze-dried vs. frozen: Freeze-dried is the no-freezer-needed convenience option; our frozen Bio-Pure brine shrimp is closer to live and a bit richer. Brine shrimp in any form is a great conditioning food for nano fish like the small rasboras and tetras (chili rasboras, ember tetras, Boraras and the like), and the smaller pieces suit small mouths well.
