  • Curing Required: Black Tree Trunk Wood must be properly cured before use.
  • Basic Curing (for new setups or light loads):
    - Soak in warm water for 24 hours.
    - Rinse thoroughly before adding.
  • Intensive Curing (for mature aquariums with livestock):
    - Boil for 30–60 minutes to reduce tannin release.
    - Follow by soaking in clean water, changing daily, until water clears.
  • Gradual Introduction: Start with a single piece if concerned about water chemistry changes.

  Initial Buoyancy

  • Wood may float at first. Soak for up to a month or secure in place using rocks, anchors, or WIO’s ScapeGlue Kitsuntil fully waterlogged.
