Seachem Flourish Tabs deliver the comprehensive Flourish nutrient blend in a dry tablet you bury in the substrate — feeding plants directly through their roots rather than the water column. They're rich in iron, manganese, magnesium, calcium, potassium, trace elements, amino acids, and vitamins, and contain no phosphate or nitrate, so they nourish the root zone without adding algae-feeding nutrients to the open water.
Where It Fits: Root tabs are the answer for heavy root-feeders — Cryptocoryne, Amazon swords, larger stem plants — especially in inert substrates like gravel or sand that hold no nutrients of their own. They pair naturally with the liquid Flourish line: tabs feed the roots from below while the liquids feed the leaves from the water column.
The nutrients release slowly through the enzymatic action of the plant roots, giving steady feeding over months. The tabs won't change pH, though in very soft or unbuffered water they're mildly acidic, similar to peat.
Dosing Guidelines: Insert one tab into the substrate for every 4–6 inch radius, pushed about midway into the bed — a standard 10-gallon tank takes about 6 tabs, distributed evenly. Replace roughly every three to four months for continued growth.
