Red-Line Rasbora
Red-Line Rasbora
Red-Line Rasbora (Trigonopoma pauciperforatum) is a vivid and elegant schooling rasbora with a brilliant red lateral stripe running the full length of the body — one of the most purely and cleanly red-striped small fish available. It belongs to the genus Trigonopoma rather than Rasbora — a closely related but distinct genus of Southeast Asian danionids.
Feeding & Care Tip: Sera Vipan Tropical Flakes and Hikari Micro Pellets make excellent daily staples. Supplement 2–3× per week with Hikari Frozen or Freeze-Dried Baby Brine Shrimp, Hikari Frozen or Freeze-Dried Tubifex Worms, or Hikari Vibra Bites. Feed small amounts 2–3 times daily.
Native to the Malay Peninsula and Sumatra — rivers, streams, and peat swamp habitats with soft, slightly acidic water. The genus Trigonopoma was separated from Rasbora in taxonomic revisions of the danionid family.
Keep in groups of at least 8. The vivid red lateral line is most intense in well-conditioned fish in soft, slightly acidic water. Compatible with all peaceful small community species.
A vivid and active schooling rasbora — the clean red stripe is immediately striking and the species is reliably hardy.
