Hoya Aff. Lambii T. Green
Hoya Aff. Lambii T. Green is a collector-grade Hoya from the broad affinis complex of Hoya lambii, imported directly from Borneo. The "T. Green" designation refers to the leaf coloration of this particular collection form — deep, glossy green foliage with a thick, waxy texture and subtle vein patterning that becomes more pronounced as the leaf matures. Like other members of the lambii group, leaves are large, ovate, and held on pendant or trailing stems that make this an outstanding candidate for hanging baskets or mounted display.
Note: as a freshly imported bare-root plant, this specimen typically arrives with just a few leaves — the photo shows a more mature, fuller specimen for reference. Sold in a 4-inch pot.
Care tip: Allow the potting medium to dry slightly between waterings — Hoya prefer to cycle between moist and nearly dry rather than staying constantly wet. Bright indirect light encourages faster growth and increases the likelihood of flowering over time.
The lambii affinis group is prized among Hoya collectors for its large, dramatic foliage and the spectacular flower clusters it eventually produces — rounded umbels of star-shaped blooms with a sweet fragrance that intensifies in the evening. This particular T. Green form is sought for the clean, deep coloration of its foliage which contrasts beautifully with the pale undersides and waxy surface sheen. Like all Hoya, it is a non-toxic, long-lived epiphyte that improves with age — older specimens become increasingly dramatic as the stems extend and the leaf count builds.
Well-established plants in good conditions will push new growth regularly and, given sufficient maturity and light, will reward the patient grower with fragrant flower clusters. A genuinely unusual and attractive addition to any Hoya or tropical plant collection.
