False Zebra Pleco L127 (Peckoltia lujani) displays a zebra-like dark and pale striped pattern — resembling the true Zebra Pleco in pattern but belonging to the distinct genus Peckoltia. Peckoltia plecos are medium-sized, omnivorous loricariids that are more adaptable in diet than either the strictly carnivorous Hypancistrus or the wood-obligate Panaque.
Feeding & Care Tip: Hikari Sinking Wafers and Hikari Mini Algae Wafers make excellent staples. Supplement with Hikari Frozen or Freeze-Dried Bloodworms and blanched vegetables. Driftwood presence is beneficial.
Medium-sized loricariids from South American river systems. Require good filtration, caves for shelter, and clean water.
Singly or in pairs. Cave spawner with male brood care. Peaceful with most tankmates.
