Cryptocoryne Walkeri is a compact Sri Lankan Crypt producing reddish-green to bronze lance-shaped leaves on a tidy, well-structured rosette that grows to 6 to 10 inches. The warm, bronzed leaf coloration and neat rosette form give Walkeri a refined character that suits smaller planted aquascapes and detailed compositions where a compact, colorful Crypt is needed. It is one of the smaller Walkeri-group Crypts, well suited to nano tanks and shaded midground positions.

Care tip: Cryptocoryne Walkeri may experience some leaf melt when first introduced to a new aquarium — this is a normal acclimation response and the plant will recover fully once established. A nutrient-rich substrate and stable water parameters minimize this response and support the best long-term growth.

Like all Cryptocoryne, Walkeri benefits from a nutrient-rich substrate and stable water conditions. The compact rosette form and bronze coloration of this Sri Lankan species develop most fully in established tanks with consistent nutrient availability. Initial leaf melt upon introduction is possible and normal. Once established, Walkeri holds its compact position reliably and develops richer bronze tones as the plant matures.

Cryptocoryne Walkeri is an easy plant that requires no CO₂ supplementation and grows well under low lighting. Temperatures between 72 and 82°F and a pH of 6.0 to 7.5 provide comfortable conditions. Regular fertilization supports the warm bronze to reddish-green coloration. The compact size means this plant is appropriately scaled for nano tanks as well as for detailed foreground and low midground positions in larger aquariums.
