Bucephalandra Brownie Blue

Bucephalandra Brownie Blue is part of the well-known 'Brownie' line, combining brownish base tones with a blue iridescent sheen across the leaf surface.

Planting tip: Bucephalandra Brownie Blue can be planted with the rhizome resting at the substrate surface, or attached to driftwood, rock, or other hardscape at any position in the aquarium. Never fully bury the rhizome under substrate, as this will cause rot. If attaching to hardscape, use cotton thread or aquarium-safe adhesive to secure it, and the plant will anchor itself naturally over time.

Native to the rivers of Borneo, Indonesia, Bucephalandra Brownie Blue thrives attached to hardscape rather than planted in substrate. Like all Bucephalandra, it carries the enchanting ability to produce small white flowers both underwater and above the waterline.

This variety reaches roughly 2-4 inches in height. It thrives in low to moderate lighting and grows well without CO2 supplementation, though CO2 and liquid fertilization will enhance leaf color and growth rate. Water temperatures of 72-82 degF and a pH range of 6.0-7.5 provide ideal conditions.

A hardy, slow-growing Bucephalandra well suited to aquascapers who appreciate botanical variety from the Borneo rainforest rivers.
