Bucephalandra brownie adinda
Bucephalandra brownie adinda
Bucephalandra brownie adinda is a warm-toned variety from the popular brownie group of Bucephalandra, featuring a distinctive dark reddish-brown hue that gives the plant its evocative group name. The rich brownish-red coloration of the compact leaves creates a warm, earthy presence in the aquascape — a color tone that is unusual among freshwater plants and particularly valuable for adding organic warmth to the lower levels of the aquascape.
Planting tip: Bucephalandra brownie adinda can be planted with the rhizome resting at the substrate surface, or attached to driftwood, rock, or other hardscape at any position in the aquarium. Never fully bury the rhizome under substrate, as this will cause rot. If attaching to hardscape, use cotton thread or aquarium-safe adhesive to secure it, and the plant will anchor itself naturally over time.
As a Bornean Bucephalandra from Indonesia, adinda can be planted with the rhizome resting at the substrate surface or attached to hardscape at any height in the aquarium. Never fully bury the rhizome. This moderate-difficulty variety grows well in low to moderate lighting with optional CO₂ supplementation. Temperatures between 72 and 82°F and a pH range of 6.0 to 7.2 provide comfortable conditions. Like all Bucephalandra, adinda can produce small, delicate white flowers both underwater and above the waterline.
Brownie adinda grows to 1 to 2 inches and maintains a compact, tidy form. Regular liquid fertilization supports the health of the dark reddish-brown leaves. Stable parameters encourage the richest expression of the warm brownie coloration.
In the aquascape, Bucephalandra brownie adinda provides warm foreground color that complements the cool greens and blues of most other aquarium plants. The reddish-brown tones pair beautifully with natural driftwood and warm-colored stone, and create an interesting color relationship with blue-toned Bucephalandra varieties where warm and cool hues meet in a single composition.
Bucephalandra brownie adinda is a warm, organic, and botanically appealing variety that brings a distinctive color note to any Bucephalandra collection.
