Big Spot Peckoltia L012/L013
Big Spot Peckoltia L012/L013
Big Spot Peckoltia L012/L013 (Ancistomus feldbergae) displays large, clearly defined dark spots on a pale body — notably larger spots than most spotted plecos. Now placed in genus Ancistomus. Peckoltia plecos are medium-sized, omnivorous loricariids that are more adaptable in diet than either the strictly carnivorous Hypancistrus or the wood-obligate Panaque.
Feeding & Care Tip: Hikari Sinking Wafers and Hikari Mini Algae Wafers make excellent staples. Supplement with Hikari Frozen or Freeze-Dried Bloodworms and blanched vegetables. Driftwood presence is beneficial.
Medium-sized loricariids from South American river systems. Require good filtration, caves for shelter, and clean water.
Singly or in pairs. Cave spawner with male brood care. Peaceful with most tankmates.
Rewarding mid-range collector plecos with attractive patterns.
