Description
Rivulet Riverbed is inspired by the natural beauty of Yakushima Island in Japan — a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its ancient cedar forests, crystal-clear mountain streams, and breathtaking biodiversity. This carefully curated substrate showcases the balance and harmony found in wild habitats, recreating the organic forest-floor riverbed character of Japan's most pristine natural landscapes.
Rivulet is a rich, multi-textured blend combining warm sandy substrate with natural dried leaves, fine twigs and roots, small rounded river pebbles, and tiny shell fragments — all the organic elements that accumulate naturally on the beds of Yakushima's forest streams. The mix creates a deeply natural, earthy character that is full of detail and biological interest, providing not only visual authenticity but also beneficial surface area for microorganism colonization and natural tannin release from the leaf matter.
This substrate is ideal for creating a pleasant, harmonious, and calming biotope environment — particularly suited for nano fish, shrimp, and other species from Japanese forest stream habitats.
