Description
Scindapsus Rupestris
Scindapsus Rupestris was described by Ridley and is native to Thailand, Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo, and Sumatra. It is a true species within the genus, distinct from the more commonly traded Scindapsus pictus and treubii, and remains relatively uncommon in cultivation.
Care tip: Give it bright light and let the growing medium dry out before watering again -- this species does not tolerate consistently wet roots.
Give it a well-draining aroid mix, bright indirect light, and typical Scindapsus warmth and humidity. As a genuine species rather than a cultivar, its appearance is more consistent from plant to plant than the highly variable pictus and treubii sports.
A lesser-known true species for collectors who want to go beyond the familiar pictus and treubii cultivars into the wider, less commercial side of the genus.
