Cryptocoryne Albida Red is a compact and charming red-tinted Crypt from India producing small, narrow leaves on a low-growing rosette of 3 to 5 inches — one of the smallest Cryptocoryne available and particularly well suited to nano tanks and front-display use in larger aquariums. The red tinting of the narrow leaves adds warm color at a scale appropriate for tanks where larger colored Crypts would be entirely out of proportion.

Care tip: Cryptocoryne Albida Red may experience some leaf melt when first introduced to a new aquarium — this is a normal acclimation response and the plant will recover fully once established. A nutrient-rich substrate and stable water parameters minimize this response and support the best long-term growth.

The compact scale and Indian origin of this species reflect adaptations to specific regional water conditions, though it grows reliably in a broad range of aquarium parameters. Cryptocoryne Albida Red is an easy plant that grows under low lighting. CO₂ needs are low. Temperatures between 72 and 82°F and a pH of 6.0 to 7.5 provide comfortable conditions. Iron-rich fertilization supports the warm red tinting of the small narrow leaves. The compact scale means this plant is appropriately sized for the very smallest planted aquariums and paludariums as well as for detailed foreground work in larger setups.
