Black Darter Tetra
Black Darter Tetra (Poecilocharax weitzmani) is an attractive aquarium fish from Upper Rio Negro and tributaries, Brazil and Venezuela.
Feeding & Care Tip: Sera Micron Nature (juveniles); Sera Vipan Baby (adults) makes an excellent daily staple. Supplement 2–3× per week with Hikari Frozen or Freeze-Dried Baby Brine Shrimp to maintain best condition and color. Feed small amounts 2–3 times daily.
Native to Upper Rio Negro and tributaries, Brazil and Venezuela. In the aquarium, a planted setup with the ideal parameters listed below and stable, clean water produces the best coloration and health.
Keep in groups of at least 6. As with most schooling species, larger groups produce more natural behavior and richer color. See Notes for any important care considerations.
