White Fin Tetra (hy511)
White Fin Tetra (hy511)
White Fin Tetra (HY511) (Hyphessobrycon rosaceus) is a rosy-bodied tetra with white-edged fins — similar in theme to the Ornatus but smaller with a warmer rosy-pink body tone. The HY511 designation is a trade code distinguishing this form from other white-fin Hyphessobrycon variants.
Feeding & Care Tip: Sera Vipan Tropical Flakes and Hikari Micro Pellets make excellent daily staples. Supplement 2–3× per week with Hikari Frozen or Freeze-Dried Bloodworms, Hikari Frozen or Freeze-Dried Baby Brine Shrimp, or Hikari Vibra Bites. Feed small amounts 2–3 times daily.
Native to Guyana and Suriname — slow-moving streams with soft, slightly acidic water. A generally hardy Hyphessobrycon with moderate water chemistry requirements.
Keep in groups of at least 8. The white fin edges and rosy body are most vivid in soft water. Compatible with all peaceful community species.
An attractive and underappreciated tetra — the rosy-white combination pairs well with more vividly colored schoolmates.
