Red Lazer Tetra
Red Lazer Tetra
Red Lazer Tetra (Hyphessobrycon coeruleus) combines vivid red body coloration with a laser-straight bright metallic stripe running the length of the body. The trade name precisely describes this combination. Coeruleus means 'blue' in Latin, referring to the metallic blue element of the stripe.
Feeding & Care Tip: Sera Vipan Tropical Flakes and Hikari Micro Pellets make excellent daily staples. Supplement 2–3× per week with Hikari Frozen or Freeze-Dried Bloodworms, Hikari Frozen or Freeze-Dried Baby Brine Shrimp, or Hikari Vibra Bites. Feed small amounts 2–3 times daily.
Native to rivers of Colombia — soft, slightly acidic water.
Keep in groups of at least 8. The red body and metallic stripe are most vivid in soft water. Peaceful community tetra.
A vivid and striking Colombian tetra — the laser-straight metallic stripe against vivid red body is immediately eye-catching.
