Hoya Aff. Lambii
Hoya Aff. Lambii is a Bornean trade find closely related to — but not confirmed identical to — the Sabah endemic Hoya lambii ("aff." is botanical shorthand for "affinis," meaning "close to"). It shares the tapered, oblong leaf shape of true Hoya lambii, but with its own character: dark green leaves marked by sunken, wavy veins traced in near-black.
Note: as a freshly imported bare-root plant, this specimen typically arrives with just a few leaves — the photo shows a more mature, fuller specimen for reference.
Care tip: Treat similarly to true Hoya lambii — this species does not like wet feet, so let the mix dry out fully between waterings.
Give it bright indirect light, a lean and well-draining epiphyte mix, and consistent humidity typical of Bornean forest species. As with any "aff." designation, its exact taxonomic status is still unsettled — it may eventually be confirmed as a form of Hoya lambii, or as a distinct species in its own right.
