  Preparation and Handling Precautions

  • Curing Required: Blondspider Wood should be cured before use in aquariums.
  • Basic Curing (for nano setups or low livestock):
    - Soak in warm water for 24 hours.
    - Rinse thoroughly before use.
  • Intensive Curing (for mature aquariums):
    - Boil for 30–60 minutes to remove any surface residues.
    - Then soak in clean water, changing daily until water clears.
  • Gradual Introduction: Add gradually to monitor water chemistry in small tanks.

  Initial Buoyancy

  • Wood may float initially. Soak for up to a month or secure using rocks, anchors, or WIO’s ScapeGlue Kits until fully waterlogged.

  Natural Organic Material

  • Variations in size, color, and shape are natural and intentional-each piece is unique.

  Water Monitoring

  • Blondspider Wood releases minimal tannins, but some coloration may occur early on.
  • Maintain kH ≥ 3 for buffering and pH stability.

  • Biofilm or saprolegnia may appear temporarily-this is natural and harmless. Remove if desired; it will disappear on its own.
