Red Crystal Tetra
Red Crystal Tetra
Red Crystal Tetra (Hyphessobrycon haraldschultzi) is a vivid, glass-like tetra with a semi-transparent body and vivid red coloration — the crystal transparency of the body combined with red elements creates the jewel-like quality of its name. Named for Harald Schultz, a Brazilian anthropologist and fish collector.
Feeding & Care Tip: Sera Vipan Tropical Flakes and Hikari Micro Pellets make excellent daily staples. Supplement 2–3× per week with Hikari Frozen or Freeze-Dried Bloodworms, Hikari Frozen or Freeze-Dried Baby Brine Shrimp, or Hikari Vibra Bites. Feed small amounts 2–3 times daily.
Native to upper Amazon tributaries in Brazil — soft, slightly acidic water. Named for Harald Schultz who collected and studied Amazonian fauna extensively.
Keep in groups of at least 8. The semi-transparent body makes the red coloration appear to glow. Peaceful community tetra.
A beautiful combination of transparency and vivid red.
