Anadendrum sp. Black is a dark-leaved Anadendrum grown in the trade under this name. Anadendrum is a genus of roughly 15 accepted epiphytic and creeping aroid species native to China and Southeast Asia, closely related to Rhaphidophora and Monstera within the same Monsteroideae subfamily, generally climbing tree trunks and boulders using adhesive roots.
Note: as a freshly imported bare-root plant, this specimen typically arrives with just a few leaves — the photo shows a more mature, fuller specimen for reference.
Care tip: Give it a textured surface — bark, a coco pole, or similar — to cling to with its adhesive roots, much like its Anadendrum relatives.
Give it bright, indirect light, a well-draining aroid mix, and water once the top of the soil has dried. As with all undescribed or informally named finds, exact appearance and mature growth habit will vary — the photo shows a mature reference specimen — your bare-root plant will typically be smaller.
Anadendrum remains a genuinely under-collected genus compared to its showier Monsteroideae relatives — a good pick for collectors looking beyond the more mainstream climbing aroids.
