Bucephalandra Kedagang Mini Round
Bucephalandra Kedagang Mini Round
Bucephalandra Kedagang Mini Round is a tiny, slow-growing variety from the kedagang group of Bucephalandra, producing miniature rounded leaves at an extremely deliberate pace that makes it one of the most long-lasting and stable foreground plants in the freshwater hobby. The rounded leaf form on a miniature scale creates a plant of exceptional compactness and botanical precision.
Planting tip: Bucephalandra Kedagang Mini Round can be planted with the rhizome resting at the substrate surface, or attached to driftwood, rock, or other hardscape at any position in the aquarium. Never fully bury the rhizome under substrate, as this will cause rot. If attaching to hardscape, use cotton thread or aquarium-safe adhesive to secure it, and the plant will anchor itself naturally over time.
As a kedagang-type Bucephalandra from Indonesia, Mini Round can be planted with the rhizome resting at the substrate surface or attached to hardscape at any position in the aquarium. Never fully bury the rhizome. This moderate-difficulty variety grows in low light without requiring CO₂ supplementation. Temperatures between 72 and 82°F and a pH range of 6.0 to 7.5 provide comfortable conditions. Like all Bucephalandra, Mini Round can produce small, delicate white flowers both underwater and above the waterline.
Growing to just 1 to 2 inches with very slow growth, Kedagang Mini Round is an ideal nano tank plant and fine-detail hardscape accent. The extremely slow growth rate means the plant holds its miniature, rounded form almost indefinitely — a practical advantage for nano aquascapes where maintaining precise scale is essential.
In the aquascape, Bucephalandra Kedagang Mini Round is perfectly scaled for nano tank foreground planting and the most detailed sections of larger hardscape compositions. The rounded leaves provide a softer complement to the elongated forms of other kedagang varieties, and in miniature groupings create a naturalistic pebble-like effect on flat stone. Shrimp are drawn to the tiny leaves for grazing.
Bucephalandra Kedagang Mini Round is a tiny plant of remarkable precision. Its miniature rounded form, slow growth, and low light tolerance make it one of the most practical and beautiful nano foreground plants in the hobby.
