Anubias Barteri Nana Golden
Anubias Barteri Nana Golden
Anubias Barteri Nana Golden is a stunning color variant of the classic Anubias barteri nana, celebrated for its warm yellow-green to golden leaf coloration that brings a bright, cheerful accent to planted aquariums. The glowing, lime-gold tones of new growth contrast beautifully with the darker greens found elsewhere in a planted tank, creating a natural focal point that draws the eye without requiring any special care.
Planting tip: Never bury the rhizome in substrate — Anubias Barteri Nana Golden should always be attached to driftwood, rock, or other hardscape with the rhizome fully exposed. Use cotton thread or aquarium-safe adhesive to secure it, and the plant will anchor itself naturally over time.
Like all Anubias, the Golden variant is extremely adaptable and forgiving. It grows well in low lighting — in fact, overly bright light can wash out its signature golden color, so moderate illumination is ideal for maintaining the most vivid hues. No CO₂ supplementation is required. Liquid fertilization, particularly with micronutrients including iron, supports the richness of its golden coloration.
Anubias Barteri Nana Golden should be attached to driftwood, rocks, or other hardscape with the rhizome fully exposed. It should never be buried in substrate. The plant grows slowly but reliably, producing new golden leaves that brighten over time as the plant matures and establishes itself on its chosen surface.
In the aquascape, Anubias Barteri Nana Golden is most effective when used as a strategic color accent rather than a mass-planted species. Placing it among deep green plants — other Anubias, Bucephalandra, mosses, or ferns — maximizes the visual contrast and makes the golden coloration pop. Beautiful, hardy, and endlessly versatile.
