Description

Syngonium Albo

Syngonium Albo is a white-variegated Syngonium podophyllum cultivar, prized for bold white patches contrasting against green arrowhead-shaped leaves. It belongs to Syngonium, a genus of climbing aroids native to Central and South America, commonly called arrowhead vines for the shape their juvenile leaves take before often splitting into more complex lobed forms at maturity.

Note: as a freshly imported bare-root plant, this specimen typically arrives with just a few leaves — the photo shows a more mature, fuller specimen for reference.

Care tip: Give it a moss pole or similar support if you want larger, more mature leaf shapes — Syngonium grown without a climbing support tend to stay in their smaller juvenile leaf form.

Give it bright, indirect light, a rich, well-draining mix, and water once the top inch or two of soil is dry. Sap from cut stems contains calcium oxalate crystals that can irritate skin, so handle cuttings with care and keep away from children and pets.

Syngonium remains one of the most actively bred houseplant genera, with new named cultivars regularly entering the trade — a good, easy-care entry point into variegated aroid collecting.
