Scindapsus Mayari
Scindapsus Mayari is a white-variegated sport of Scindapsus pictus, first appearing in the trade in 2019 and named for Mayari, the Philippine goddess of the moon -- a nod to the leaf's moon-white variegated patches. Leaves are flat, ovate to heart-shaped, with a smooth, matte surface and raised silver patterning where variegation appears.
Care tip: All-white leaf sections lack chlorophyll and can scorch easily -- give this plant bright but indirect light, and expect the most vivid white sections in slightly lower light within that bright range.
As variegation increases on any individual leaf, expect a corresponding trade-off in vigor, since white tissue cannot photosynthesize. Give it well-draining soil and water every one to two weeks, adjusting for light and season.
