Hoya Obstusifolia was described by Wight and ranges from southern Myanmar and the Andaman Islands through Thailand into western Malesia — Peninsular Malaysia, Singapore, Sumatra, Java, and Borneo. It's a robust, vigorous climber with shiny leaves and notably stout stems; the species name refers to the blunt (obtuse) tip of its foliage.

Note: as a freshly imported bare-root plant, this specimen typically arrives with just a few leaves — the photo shows a more mature, fuller specimen for reference.

Care tip: Cuttings of this species can be slow to root, but once established it grows quickly and may need repotting more often than other Hoya in its first year.

Flowers are smooth (glabrous) on the outside, colored yellow or white with a yellow corona. Give it bright indirect light, a well-draining mix, and a sturdy support — this is a genuinely vigorous grower once past its initial establishment period, comparable in vigor to the equally robust Hoya imperialis.
