Cyrtosperma Beccarianum belongs to Cyrtosperma, a genus of large swamp-dwelling aroids native to Southeast Asia and the Pacific islands, best known for the giant swamp taro (Cyrtosperma merkusii), an important traditional food crop across Oceania. Like its relatives, this species produces substantial, sagittate leaves arising from a starchy corm, and grows naturally in wet, swampy forest habitat.

Note: as a freshly imported bare-root plant, this specimen typically arrives with just a few leaves — the photo shows a more mature, fuller specimen for reference.

Care tip: Cyrtosperma are swamp plants at heart — keep the substrate consistently wet rather than letting it dry out the way you would most aroids.

Give it bright, filtered light, a rich, constantly moist to wet substrate, and warm, humid conditions. This is a genus built for scale — expect a substantial plant given enough time and the right swampy conditions.
