Alocasia Watsonia (trade name for Alocasia longiloba 'Watsoniana') is treated by most modern botanical authorities as a form within the wide-ranging Alocasia longiloba species complex, though it continues to be grown and sold under its own name. Like other longiloba-group plants, it shows elongated, arrow-shaped leaves with a deep green surface and pale contrasting veins.
Note: as a freshly imported bare-root plant, this specimen typically arrives with just a few leaves — the photo shows a more mature, fuller specimen for reference.
Care tip: Keep the pot snug to the root ball — as with other longiloba-group Alocasia, an oversized pot holding excess moisture is the most common cause of root problems.
Give it 50–70% filtered light, high humidity, and warm, stable temperatures, allowing the top of the mix to dry before watering again. As a historically important parent in Alocasia hybridization (contributing to the well-known Alocasia × amazonica), this form has real horticultural pedigree behind it.
