Rebel Wood releases very little tannins and in most cases sinks immediately, making it one of the most convenient woods for aquascaping.

Preparation & Handling

• Curing Optional: Rebel Wood sinks immediately in most cases; for livestock setups, curing is still recommended
• Basic Curing: Soak in warm water for 24–48 hours; rinse thoroughly before placement
• Intensive Curing (sensitive systems): Boil for 30–60 minutes to reduce initial tannins; continue soaking with daily water changes until clear
• Initial Buoyancy: Due to its natural density, Rebel Wood typically requires no soaking; use WIO ScapeGlue or anchors to secure placement if needed

Water Monitoring

• Releases little to no tannins — enjoy crystal-clear water from day one
• May still subtly influence pH; maintain kH ≥ 3 for a stable buffer
• Test pH, kH, and gH weekly during the first few weeks
• Biofilm formation is natural and beneficial — it will diminish over time or can be removed manually

• Use horizontally for trunk effects or upright for expressive branched structures
• Pair with ferns, mosses, or low-cover plants to emphasize the raw beauty
