Seachem Stability is a bottled colony of beneficial bacteria that establishes and maintains your aquarium's biological filter — the engine that converts toxic ammonia and nitrite into far safer nitrate. It's the product you use to cycle a brand-new tank quickly and safely, and to rebuild the biofilter any time it's been disrupted (a filter cleaning, a course of medication, or a new tank addition).
Good to Know: Stability's bacteria are in a hardy spore form, so unlike many competing products it doesn't require refrigeration and won't spoil on the shelf. It pairs perfectly with Prime: Prime locks ammonia and nitrite into a non-toxic but still bacteria-available form, while Stability supplies the bacteria that consume them — the two are designed to work together during a fish-in cycle.
For aquascapers setting up a freshly planted tank, it's a simple insurance policy against the dreaded "new tank" ammonia spikes while your system finds its balance.
Dosing Guidelines: On startup, use 1 capful (5 mL) per 10 gallons on day one, then 5 mL per 20 gallons daily for 7 days — fish and other livestock may be added at any point during this period. For maintenance, dose 5 mL per 20 gallons with each water change. Turn off any UV sterilizer while dosing.
