Description
Seachem Silicone Sealant
Seachem Silicone Sealant is aquarium-safe silicone for sealing and repairing glass aquariums and for building or bonding glass and many decorations. Once cured it's completely non-toxic and safe for fish, plants, and invertebrates — the right product for a leaking seam, a DIY tank or sump, or fixing hardscape and backgrounds in place. Available in clear and black.
Good to Know: Use only aquarium-rated silicone like this — hardware-store silicones often contain mildew-resistant additives that are toxic to fish. Black is the classic choice for hiding seams and giving a clean, professional look (and a sense of depth); clear is best for invisible repairs. Surfaces must be clean and bone-dry, and cured silicone needs to fully set (typically 24–48 hours) before water contact.
How to Use: Clean and dry the glass, apply a smooth bead, tool it neatly, and let it cure fully before filling. For a leak repair, remove the old silicone completely first for a lasting seal.
