Good to Know: Filter socks are simple and effective, but they need regular cleaning or swapping — once a sock loads up with trapped debris, that organic matter sits in your flow path and can degrade water quality, so rinse or rotate it often (many keepers keep a few socks and swap them out). Rinse in old tank water and dry between uses; wash without detergent.
