Seachem Clarity is a water clarifier that turns cloudy, hazy aquarium water crystal clear. It works by flocculation — gathering up the tiny suspended particles, dust, and organic fines that cause cloudiness and clumping them together so your filter can trap them and your water polishes to a sparkle. It tackles both the gray haze of new-setup substrate dust and the milky cloudiness of a bacterial bloom.
Good to Know: Briefly, the water often looks worse right after dosing — that's the clarifier binding particles together before the filter removes them, and it clears within a few hours. Clarity is reef- and plant-safe and won't strip nutrients your plants need. One caution: don't use it alongside the copper medication Cupramine, and like other conditioners, give it space if you're dosing several reducing agents at once.
It's the quick fix for that frustrating haze that can appear after a rescape, a deep gravel vacuum, or a new tank fill, when you want the water gin-clear for photos or just for the satisfaction of it.
Dosing Guidelines: Use 1 capful (5 mL) per 20 gallons. Make sure your filter is running (good mechanical filtration does the actual particle removal), and repeat after 24–48 hours if needed. Best results come with clean or fresh filter media to capture the clumped particles.
