Bucephalandra Biblis SkyBlue
Bucephalandra Biblis SkyBlue
Bucephalandra Biblis SkyBlue is a small, refined variety that delivers its sky-blue iridescent color across wavy, undulating leaves that display a blue-violet sheen most vivid and impressive under good aquarium lighting. The wavy leaf form adds organic movement and texture to the already striking coloration, making SkyBlue a variety that combines two of the most appealing qualities in the Bucephalandra genus — distinctive color and interesting leaf structure.
Planting tip: Bucephalandra Biblis SkyBlue can be planted with the rhizome resting at the substrate surface, or attached to driftwood, rock, or other hardscape at any position in the aquarium. Never fully bury the rhizome under substrate, as this will cause rot. If attaching to hardscape, use cotton thread or aquarium-safe adhesive to secure it, and the plant will anchor itself naturally over time.
Native to Indonesia, Biblis SkyBlue can be planted with the rhizome resting at the substrate surface or attached to hardscape at any position in the aquarium. Never fully bury the rhizome. This easy-care variety is accommodating in its needs, growing well in low to moderate lighting without CO₂ supplementation. Temperatures between 72 and 82°F and a pH range of 6.0 to 7.4 provide ideal conditions. Like all Bucephalandra, SkyBlue can produce small, delicate white flowers both underwater and above the waterline.
Growing to 1 to 2 inches, Biblis SkyBlue is an excellent foreground plant for tanks of any size, particularly nano aquascapes where its wavy leaves and sky-blue iridescence can be fully appreciated in a small space. Regular liquid fertilization, especially with micronutrients, supports the health and color quality of this variety.
In the aquascape, Bucephalandra Biblis SkyBlue is most effective when positioned where light falls directly on the leaf surface, maximizing the blue-violet shimmer. Grouping several SkyBlue plants together creates a shimmering blue display that is one of the most unusual and beautiful foreground effects possible in a freshwater planted tank.
Bucephalandra Biblis SkyBlue is a small plant with a color personality larger than life. For nano tanks, detailed aquascapes, and collectors seeking sky-blue color in a low-maintenance form, it is an outstanding choice.
