biOrb Jungle Clay Balls are a lightweight expanded-clay drainage layer for tropical terrariums. Placed as a base layer underneath your planting substrate, they create an underground reservoir or "water table" — add water and it forms a natural aquifer that wicks moisture up to plant roots and raises humidity, while keeping the soil above from waterlogging.
Good to Know: A drainage layer is the foundation of a healthy planted (bioactive) terrarium — it prevents the soggy, stagnant soil that rots roots, while feeding humidity from below. Use the clay balls under the biOrb Jungle Mix (or Jungle Bark) to build a proper tropical vivarium. Ideal for humidity-loving jungle plants and species.
