You simply place the pillow in your filter, where water passing through it is gradually softened, helping create the soft-water conditions many tropical fish prefer.
Good to Know: The real selling point is that it's rechargeable: when the pillow is exhausted, you soak it in a salt solution to recharge the ion-exchange resin, then return it to the filter to use again and again. Dosing Guidelines: Place one pillow in your filter per the package's tank-size guidance, sized to your aquarium's volume. Recharge it in a salt solution as directed once it's spent, then reuse. Test your GH periodically to track how much it's softening.
