API Fungus Cure treats fungal infections in freshwater fish — the cottony white growths of true fungus (Saprolegnia and Achlya), mouth fungus ("cotton mouth"), body slime, eye cloud, and the fungal side of fin and tail rot. Fungus typically takes hold on fish already weakened by injury, stress, or poor water, so it's a valuable treatment to have on hand for a hospital tank.
Good to Know: Fungal infections look like white cottony tufts and usually follow some other stress or wound, so address the underlying cause (water quality, injury, bullying) as you treat. Catching it early gives the best results — advanced fungus is harder to clear.
A Caution for Inverts: Keep fish medications away from shrimp and snails, treat in quarantine where possible, and remove carbon while dosing (it absorbs the medication).
Dosing Guidelines: Dose per the label for your tank volume, with water changes between doses, and complete the full course. Remove chemical filtration during treatment.
