Notably, the 5-in-1 strips are the easiest way to read your GH and KH — the hardness and buffering values that matter so much in planted and shrimp tanks — which the liquid Master Kit doesn't cover. Many aquascapers keep both: strips for a quick hardness check, liquid kits for precise nitrogen-cycle readings.
Good to Know: Strips trade a little accuracy for speed, and they're sensitive to humidity, so reseal the bottle promptly and replace it once opened a long while. One thing to note: this 5-in-1 does not include ammonia — for that you'll want the liquid ammonia test or a continuous monitor.
How to Use: Dip one strip briefly into the aquarium, remove it, hold it level (don't shake off the water), and compare the pads to the color chart at the times printed on the label. Keep the bottle tightly closed and dry between uses for the most reliable results.
