Ryuoh is the language of mountains — jagged faces, deep cuts, and pale mineral veins that read like storm-split cliffs. Place a single ridge and the scape sharpens; compose a range and you get instant altitude, with silhouettes that photograph beautifully and hold attention from across the room. Under water the greys darken and the veins glow; in dry scapes the surfaces mattify into a cool, sculptural calm.

Let the ridgelines set the rhythm. Seat the tallest piece slightly off-axis to establish motion, then echo its fracture angles with supporting stones to create saddles, spurs, and natural fall lines where "water would move." Keep negative corridors between masses so the scene breathes. Half-bury a few fragments to mimic talus — small choices that make the layout feel discovered, not arranged.

Ryuoh loves expressive lighting. Raking side light carves razor highlights along edges while clefts hold shadow for depth; soft top light turns the whole composition into a highland mist. Pair with pale sands like Heaven for crisp, classic Iwagumi contrast, or use a darker bed to deepen the drama. Driftwood adds organic counter-lines; fine-leaf plants and moss soften tension without diluting structure. Usage

• Suitable for both aquatic and terrarium environments
• Rinse rocks and stones with water before use; use a brush to clean before introducing to the aquarium
• Avoid placing rocks directly on the glass — place substrate or WIO LandForms beneath the hardscape first
• Always secure stones, especially when stacking; use WIO ScapeBound to prevent movement during maintenance
• Position stones a few centimeters/inches away from aquarium glass walls to facilitate maintenance
• Control any alterations in pH and kH by regular water changes with osmotic or soft water, or by using a water softener if necessary
• Safe for fish, shrimps, and other aquatic animals
