Philodendron is a genus of over 600 species native to the tropical forests of Central and South America, where most grow as climbing or scrambling epiphytes.
Note: as a freshly imported bare-root plant, this specimen typically arrives with just a few leaves — the photo shows a more mature, fuller specimen for reference.
Care tip: Give it bright indirect light and a chunky, well-draining aroid mix — avoid deep shade, which can cause legginess and washed-out color, especially on variegated forms.
Water once the top inch or two of soil has dried, keep humidity moderate to high, and provide a moss pole or similar support if the plant shows a climbing habit — most Philodendron produce larger, more mature foliage once given something to climb.
