Description
Glacier Stone
Glacier Stone is a dramatic, pale aquascaping rock prized for its bright, icy coloring and bold, fractured texture — light grey-to-white tones streaked with veins that catch the eye against green plants and dark substrate. It brings a crisp, mountainous, "frozen-peak" character to nature and iwagumi scapes, and makes a beautiful high-contrast centerpiece.
Good to Know: The pale color is the appeal — Glacier Stone stands out vividly and gives a scape a clean, alpine look, especially striking with carpeting plants and red stems for contrast. Its angular faces and veining suggest cliffs and ridgelines; arrange pieces with a consistent direction for a natural mountain-range effect.
A Note on Water Chemistry: Some stones contain carbonate material that can gently raise hardness (GH/KH) and pH over time. If you keep sensitive soft-water species — Caridina shrimp especially — it's worth a quick test: drip a little vinegar on a hidden spot and watch for fizzing, or monitor your KH after adding it, so there are no surprises.
Before You Place It: Give every stone a good rinse and a scrub under running water to remove dust and grit before adding it to your tank. Each piece is natural and unique, so size, shape, and exact coloring will vary.
