Microbe-Lift Artemiss is an all-natural, herbal immune-support treatment aimed at bacterial and fungal troubles — the symptoms behind fin and tail rot, mouth rot, ulcers, milky skin, fungus, and dropsy. Rather than acting as a conventional antibiotic, it works by stimulating the fish's own immune system and helping dislodge pathogenic bacteria, while supporting the regeneration of damaged tissue. Because it's not an antibiotic, it won't drive antibiotic resistance, and it's often used as a gentle destressant when acclimating new arrivals.
Honest Expectations: We want to be straight with you about the herbal remedies. Artemiss is a plant-extract immune-support product, not a guaranteed cure — it can genuinely help a fish fight a mild, early infection, but a serious or advanced bacterial disease usually calls for a true antibiotic (like the Seachem -Plex line). Think of it as gentle, natural first-aid and prevention, best used early, not as a heavy-duty medication.
A Caution for Shrimp, Snails & Bettas: Artemiss is built on plant/essential-oil extracts, and some keepers report it harming shrimp and snails, and the aromatic oils can irritate the labyrinth organ of bettas and gouramis. We'd steer clear of it in a shrimp or snail tank, use real caution with labyrinth fish, and treat in a separate quarantine tank whenever possible.
Dosing Guidelines: Shake very well (the plant extracts separate), turn off UV/ozone, and dose per the label — about 1 mL per 5 gallons daily for 10 days. A popular protocol is to alternate Artemiss and Herbtana 12 hours apart when adding new fish. Don't combine with other medications, algaecides, or copper products, and remove carbon while treating.
