Microbe-Lift Nite-Out II is a liquid nitrifying-bacteria starter that establishes and stabilizes the biological filter in a new aquarium — the living engine that turns toxic ammonia into nitrite and then far-safer nitrate. It contains live strains of the true nitrifying bacteria (Nitrosomonas, Nitrobacter, and Nitrospira), so it seeds your tank and filter with exactly the cultures that cycling a tank depends on — reducing the dangerous early ammonia and nitrite spikes that cost new fish.
Good to Know: This is the bottled-bacteria half of cycling a tank. For the safest, most humane start, pair it with a pure ammonia source like Dr. Tim's Ammonium Chloride for a fishless cycle: the Nite-Out II seeds the bacteria and the ammonia feeds them, so your biofilter is fully built before any fish go in. It works in fresh and saltwater, and won't cloud the water.
Dosing Guidelines: Shake well. New tanks: about 1 tsp per 10 gallons every other day until ammonia drops below ~0.6 ppm. Established tanks: a maintenance dose after each water change and whenever you add new fish. The bacteria are oxygen-loving, so keep the water well aerated. Sizes: 4, 8, 16, 64 oz, and 1 gallon.
